This Article will walk you through installing and using Google Drive on your computer. Google Drive allows you to store your files online and access them from any device with an internet connection.
Procedure:
1. Visit the Google Drive download page: https://www.google.com/drive/download/. Click 'Download Drive for desktop.'
2. Locate the downloaded file (usually in your Downloads folder). Then double-click the file to run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Set Google Chrome (if needed): If another browser is set as default, consider changing it to Google Chrome. This step isn't always necessary, but it can help ensure a seamless experience.
To set this go to settings and look for “Default Apps” > web browser and select Google chrome.
4. Once you’ve successfully installed the Google Drive for Desktop, open the application.
5. Choose the Google account you want to use with Google Drive. Then enter your Google account credentials (email and password) to sign in.
6. By default, Google Drive will automatically sync your online files with your computer's local storage.
To check, please monitor the progress of the Google Drive icon in your system tray (lower right of desktop)

***In case the above procedures did not solve the problem. Then the app (google drive for desktop) needs to be allowed by windows Firewall. Please continue with the additional steps below on how to allow an app through Windows Firewall
7. Open Windows Firewall Settings: Search for 'Allow an app through Windows Firewall' in your Start menu search bar.
8. Then click Change Settings and look for 'Google Drive' in the list of allowed apps.
*if you can’t find it from the list, click the 'Allow another app...' button and follow the prompts.
9. Search for 'Google Drive' in the list or browse to its location using these steps:
10. Go back to the Windows Firewall settings and paste the copied file path into the appropriate field.
11. Lastly, add Google Drive by selecting the app and click 'Add' to allow Google Drive through the firewall then click OK.
