This guide will help users who cannot find or access their shared drive or Google Drive from their computer (This PC) or file explorer .
Procedure:
1. First check if your Google Drive desktop application is already installed. To check, open the Start Menu and search for 'Google Drive.'
Note: If the Google Drive desktop appears in the search results, then the application is installed.( you can skip step 2 and 3).
2. If Google Drive is not listed, then installation is required. Kindly go to: https://www.google.com/drive/download/ and click the 'Download drive for desktop' button.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Google Drive desktop application.
4. After installation (or if Google Drive is already installed), right-click the Google Drive icon and select 'Sign in to Google Drive.'
5. Sign in to Google Drive by entering your goggle or computer credentials (email address and password) and click 'Sign in.' (At times the issue is simply due to Google Drive credentials is not logged in)
6. If the issue is not resolved, try to reconnect the Google Drive by right-clicking on the Google Drive icon in the system tray ( this can be found on the lower right section of your desktop), then select 'Preferences' and click on the 'Disconnect account' button.
7. Lastly, follow the on-screen prompts to sign you back into your Google Workspace account. Then navigate to 'My Computer' or 'This PC.' and you should see a drive named 'Google Drive.'
